Choosing your first cloud certification is one of the most important early decisions in an IT career. At Trinity Technologies, the two questions we hear most often are: should I learn AWS or Azure first? and which one gets me hired faster?

Start with the job market, not the hype

Both platforms are excellent. The smarter move is to look at the roles you are targeting. If you want broad cloud-engineering and startup roles, AWS has the larger market share. If you are aiming for enterprises that already run Microsoft 365 and Windows Server, Azure is often the faster route in.

The beginner-friendly path

For absolute beginners we usually recommend starting with a foundational certificate — AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) — before specialising. These build vocabulary and confidence without overwhelming you.

The best certification is the one you actually finish and can talk about confidently in an interview.
